Privacy & disclaimer
Plain and short.
Your information
This website doesn’t ask for your name, phone number or any health details, and it doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Calling a clinic or sending a WhatsApp message opens your own phone or WhatsApp app. The clinic map on the Clinics page loads from Google Maps when you reach it, under Google’s own privacy policy. The company that hosts the site may keep basic visit statistics.
Medical information
The guides, checks and animations on this site are general information for parents, based on recognised sources listed on each page. They are not a diagnosis and don’t replace an examination of your own child.
In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital emergency department.
Photos of children
Photos that include patients are shown with their parents’ permission, with the faces of children and their families blurred and any names or hospital numbers removed.
The 3D child
The see-through child in the animations is not a real person. The body is the MakeHuman base mesh (released as CC0, public domain), shaped as a child. The skeleton is “Human Skeleton” (3DPX-016838) from NIH 3D, made from a CT scan and shared under the CC BY 4.0 licence; its bones were resized and moved to a child’s proportions for this site. The 3D drawing is done with three.js (MIT licence).
Questions
About this website.
Does this website collect my details?
No. There are no forms, no advertising and no tracking cookies. The host may keep basic visit statistics.
What does the site keep in my browser?
Only small notes for your own convenience: whether you have already seen the opening screen and the tip card during this visit. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Is the 3D child a real patient?
No. It is built from a free body model and a published CT-scan skeleton, resized to a child’s proportions. See “The 3D child” above.
Can I use the checks on this site instead of a visit?
No. The checks and guides are general information; only an examination can tell what is happening with your own child. In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital emergency department.
